Institutional Social Responsibility

Institutional Social Responsibility is one of the mainstays of Sophia Girls’ College and the Institution is conscientious in its responsibility beyond simple imparting of knowledge and skills to the students. Sophia College stands true to its core values of commitment and compassion by contributing to society's development and promoting inclusive growth. The College nurtures the idea of social responsibility by instilling such core values in the educated youth of today that helps them contribute towards nation-building. Some social initiatives of the Institution are as follows:

  • Education through Social Service and Social Service through Education
  • ‘Each One Teach One’ programme for the poor and needy children of the vicinity
  • Outreach Programme in nearby Government schools
  • Adoption of Villages / Slums for welfare oriented activities
  • Outreach Programme to Migrants and those who live in slums
  • Outreach Programme in Central Jail, Ajmer
  • Outreach programmes and charitable activities during natural calamities and disasters like flood, epidemic etc.
  • Visit to Asha Niketan, the AIDS centre at Kanakheri and programmes on various occasions
  • Visit and programmes for the inmates of Mother Teresa’s Charity Home for the destitute
  • Visit to schools for special and differently abled children
  • Reaching out to senior citizens in old age homes
  • Socially relevant Nukkad Nataks, Rallies and Awareness Campaigns in Bunabhai, Bandiya and Bhopo Ka Bada (adopted villages of the College) by the students
  • Financially contributing towards providing food to the needy twice a week in collaboration with the Social Service Society ‘Disha-Ahaar’
  • Blood Donation Camp
  • NSS Special Camps in adopted villages for 7 to 10 days
  • Sensitization of students and employees of the institution to the Constitutional obligation : values, rights, duties and responsibilities of citizens
  • Initiatives and efforts to provide an inclusive environment i.e. tolerance and harmony towards cultural, regional , linguistic, communal, socio economic and diversities
  • Organization and celebration of National and International Commemorative days and events and Festivals like Gandhi Jayanti, Sadbhawana Diwas, National Integration Day, Human Rights Day, Rakhi, Diwali etc. Women’s Day, Youth Day, Girl Child Day, Literacy Day etc.

    • The College Management and Staff contributed Rs. 1, 00,000 towards Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to mitigate COVID-19.
