The college has 2 NSS units with approximately 250 volunteers who work with the aim of creating awareness. and sensitivity towards the environment and the needs of the less fortunate and under privileged in society through various activities such as Outreach programs, Blood Donation Camps, Awareness Programs,Seminars, Tree Plantation Drives, Rallies and teaching the poor children and helping them to do something worthwhile in life.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SESSION

  • "Each One Teach One" The National Service Scheme under Sophia Girls’ College has adopted 10 bastis namely Ghoogra, Bunabai, and Kayad. The volunteers teach the children of nearby Bastis who can't afford tuition. On the 27th of July 2023, the NSS Unit organized a Plantation Drive at Bhopo ka Bada. 47 Volunteers participated in this drive.
  • A group of 11 NSS volunteers celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Central Jail and Women’s Jail, Ajmer on the 29th of August, 2023.
  • On the 29th of August, 2023, the National Sports Day was organized under the ‘Fit India Movement’ of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and 26 students participated in the same.
  • On the 6th of September, 2023, a Nukkad Natak on voter's awareness was conducted by NSS Unit of the college under SVEEP Campaign and 1500 students participated in this event.
  • On the 8th of September 2023, the NSS Unit in collaboration with SVEEP, organized a Movie Screening Competition to educate its members about Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). 47 students took part in this activity.
  • On the 11th of September, 2023, the NSS Unit in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education organized a ‘Marathon’ to spread awareness about voting rights and 27 students participated in this activity.
  • On the 13th of September, 2023 and 5 NSS volunteers represented the institution at the Pre-Republic Day Selection Camp at SPC Government College, Ajmer
  • On the 16th of September, 2023, a “Literacy Drive’ was organized for the underprivileged kids of Government School at Paltan Bazar, Ajmer. 49 NSS volunteers participated in this activity.
  • The impactful Cleanliness Drive spanned from the 27th of September, 2023 to the 2nd of October, 2023, in strong solidarity with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. 71 NSS volunteers contributed to this drive.
  • On the 14th of October, 2023, the NSS Unit organized a successful event “Meri Maati Mera Desh” to make the students aware of their voting rights. Students presented a Nukkad Natak on the topic “Voting Rights”. 27 NSS volunteers actively participated in this event.
  • On the 14th of October, 2023, a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ was organized at J L N Hospital for thalassemia patients. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of 65 individuals.
  • On the 1st of December 2023, the NSS Unit organized a special event on World AIDS Day to raise awareness about AIDS and show support to those affected by the disease at HIV/AIDS Centre, Kanakheri to meet AIDS patients. 27 students participated in this event.
  • On the 19th of January 2023, a ‘Medical Camp’ was organized which featured a range of medical tests, including blood pressure measurements, blood sugar screenings, and BMI assessments. 55 students participated in this camp.
  • On the 20th of January 2024, the NSS Unit in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Rotary Club conducted the CPR Session. About 400 students participated in this activity.
  • On the 3rd of February, 2024, a compelling talk was organized by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with Shastri Hospital at Sophia Girls' College (Autonomous), Ajmer. The focus was on raising awareness about breast cancer, its precautions and self-detection methods. 102 students attended this session.
  • On the 7th of February, 2024, the NSS wing organized an engaging road safety talk by Mr. Praveen Kumar (Traffic Inspector, Jaipur) that seamlessly combined education with humor. 115 students participated in this activity.
  • The ‘3 Days NSS Camp’ was organized from the 11th - 13th of September 2023 which included activities such as Healthy Food Making Competition,an Expert talk on adulteration and Shramdaan.
  • The ‘3 Days Outreach Camp’ was organized by the NSS volunteers to Mother Teresa's Destitute Home in Jodhpur for children, Women's Jail and Destitute Home for Women, Anugrah.
