The Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) recognized by the MHRD is supportive of its students who are young budding entrepreneurs aspiring to establish themselves in the global market. To create an ecosystem for innovations, creation and transfer of knowledge, the College provides systematic entrepreneurship training comprising both active and passive learning activities on entrepreneurial alertness and efficacy among adolescent youth. These young talented students are allowed to market and sell their products during different departmental fests and also the college fest. The Institution provides financial support as seed money to the young entrepreneurs and also encourages them to take up internships related to their area of interest that instill a sense of confidence in them. These fledgling talents are recognized and certified with due appreciation. Many students have created a niche for themselves and are earning while learning on the campus.
The Cell strives hard to keep pace with the changing time and help the students of Sophia College become job givers instead of job seekers in the future. It aids students from all socio-economic backgrounds to think out of the box and nurture innate talents and hone their entrepreneurial skills by promoting entrepreneurship training among adolescents, specifically passive learning (e.g., classroom lessons, assembly talks, visits to firms) and more active, experiential learning (e.g., attachments and internships, product/prototype creation, learning from a mentor, etc.)
